When Elon Musk, Karlie Kloss, Travis Kelce, and a who’s-who of media, branding, and tech execs all converge, there’s plenty of buzz. From the Cannes Lions festival in the south of France, Autodesk’s Dara Treseder talks with Bob Safian about the key themes, lessons, and intrigue that emerged. She explains why AI and women’s sports dominated much of the conversation, how the attention economy is giving way to the ‘intention economy,’ and why influencers don’t want you calling them “influencers” anymore.
In today's live edition of Remotely, Autodesk CMO Dara Treseder discusses brand building and why her design-and-make software company is taking a big bet on marketing despite the shaky economy with Ad Age Senior Reporter Lindsay Rittenhouse. Treseder came to Autodesk last October after leaving her role as the head of global marketing, communications, and membership for Peloton. She used her marketing prowess to help Peloton carve out a leading position within the connected fitness category. Autodesk—the maker of software that powers products across various industries including architecture, engineering, construction, manufacturing, media and entertainment—has tasked her to do the same within its design-and-make software space. Treseder has already hired Ryan Reynolds’ Maximum Effort as a creative partner, having worked with the agency while at Peloton. Maximum Effort was behind Autodesk’s Oscars ads in March that introduced the world to “Otto Desc,” a Hollywood legend who is praised at first by stars such as actor and director Elizabeth Banks and then revealed later to be entirely made up and in fact representative of the company itself.
"Consumers want to know who you are. It's really important as a brand to be clear on who you are what you stand for. If you stand for everything, you stand for nothing. It's important to be clear what matters most to us and why. What's our purpose? Why do we exist?" In this View From The Top, Chisom Obi-Okoye, MBA ‘22 sits down with Dara Treseder, SVP, Global Head of Marketing, Communications & Membership of Peloton to discuss performative action, the idea of connected fitness, and why the journey of being a founder is not linear. "Remember no matter how high you are, be humble. No matter how low you are, be hopeful," says Treseder.
